This holiday region is situated at approximately 1,000 metres above sea-level and includes the lovely holiday villages of Nesselwängle-Haller, Grän-Haldensee, Tannheim, Zöblen, Jungholz and Schattwald. The valley stretches from the Bavarian Oberjochpass to the upper Lechtal valley. The idyllic village of Jungholz is a part of this holiday region, even though the 7-squarekilometre village is an Austrian exclave situated just across the border in Germany.

The nature preserve Vilsalpsee is one of the most valued natural gems of this region. Sports-highlights include interesting events such as the Seen-Lauf (transl. lake-run) and the Drei-Hütten-Rennen (transl. 3-huts-run), which is an exciting race for runners, bikers, and walkers in the magnificent hiking area above the Haldensee lake.
