The Nature Park Region Reutte impresses guests with fantastic cultural highlights, spectacular nature, and great sports-activities. The Nature Park Region Reutte starts at Vils and spans all the way to the Allgäu Alps. It includes one of the smallest cities in Austria, offers a wide, sunny valley, the town of Reutte, and stretches all the way to the town of Weißenbach in the Lechtal valley. This beautiul region includes eleven towns and villages: Breitenwang, Ehenbichl, Höfen, Musau, Pflach, Pinswang, Reutte, Vils, Wängle and Weißenbach.

The river Lech is one of the last unaltered wild rivers in Europe and its wide river bed and forests have created a landscape which is unmatched.

This holiday region is renowned as one of the best cross-country ski region with fantastic groomed tracks leading through the spectacular landscape. All skiers and snowboarders can enjoy the four family-friendly ski resorts, which ensure great fun in the snow. With high-quality service, the ski schools offer ski courses for skiers of all ages, and at any level of ability. All children love the playful introduction to skiing with other children. This region has a range of fun activities for guests to enjoy during winter, such as snowshoe-hiking, winter walking, ski mountaineering, and a true highlight for all ages, tobogganing. Making the most of the cold temperatures, activities such as ice skating, curling, and ice climbing are great fun as well. For some romance, a ride on a horse-drawn carriage through the winter landscape always feels very special.

As the name already suggests, the Nature Park Region Reutte is a fantastic destination for all lovers of nature. Especially during the warmer seasons, spring, summer, and autumn, this area caters to hikers, mountain bikers, and climbers, who all want to explore this beautiful alpine setting. Hikers can enjoy more than 400 kilometres of marked trails, and the "Stuibenfälle" bike circuit caters to all bikers. This circuit includes 9 different stages leading the bikers past magnificent waterfalls. For all water sports enthusiasts, this region has a wealth of activities instore. The river Lech is ideal for a rafting tour, and the Plansee offers the opportunity for guests to swim, surf, sail, dive, and row. Guests can also enjoy the Urisee lake, Heiterwanger lake, Fraunsee lake, and the Alatsee. Shopping in the city of Reutte is also a popular activity and perfect for a change in pace.

This stunning Nature Park also includes unique cultural highlights. The historic Ehernberg castles are a magnificent sight, and are a great day out for the entire family. A spectacular highlight is the "Highline 179", which is a 406-metre-long suspension bridge, the longest in the world, spanning between the Ehrenberg ruins and the Fort Claudia over the "Fernpassstraße" B179 road. This may not be for everyone, but the views are absolutely spectacular and well worth it!
