One of the main attractions is the Vans Penken Park, which is a freeski and snowboard park known throughout all of Europe. With a beginner's park, novices can maybe try some tricks or watch the professionals soar through the air on the big jumps. The Ahorn lift leads from the centre of Mayrhofen up to the ski resort, and the Penken lift takes guests to the same ski area. Together with the other ski resorts in the Zillertal the Arena Ski Zillertal 3000 holiday region was formed to offer guests an even more exciting ski area to enjoy all year, due to the Hintertux glacier being open throughout the year. One of the most unique attractions in this region is the "White Lounge" Igloo-Hotel at the top of the Ahorn mountain. Of course, there are a lot more fun activities to enjoy during winter in Mayrhofen. With more than 200 kilometres of groomed tracks, cross-country skiers can explore the winter landscape of the Zillertal. Further popular winter sports are ski-mountaineering, snowshoe-hiking, winter walking, and tobogganing, which is guaranteed to be great fun along the 7-kilometre-long decent.

Join one of the interesting guided tours through the park and learn more about Tyrolean nature from your guide. One of the guides is the mountaineer Peter Habeler, who climbed to the summit of Mount Everest together with the famous mountaineer Reinhold Messner. Bikers can enjoy hundreds of kilometres of trails ranging from gentle family-friendly paths along the river, to fun cross-country bike paths, to exciting single-trails at the Penken.
