Shaped by the second largest river in Tyrol, the Lech, wide gravel banks, large areas of forest and extensive valley meadows form the alpine landscape of the Lechtal. Not least because of this, the Lech Valley has lost nothing of its originality in the past decades.
In addition to the unique nature, the Lech Valley also offers cultural highlights. The Geierwally open-air stage, carving schools and sculptors' workshops as well as convivial concerts and traditional evenings of the local music bands and costume associations are equally popular and well-visited highlights in the Lechtal.
Typical for the communities of the Lech Valley is the so-called "Lüftlmalerei" - a facade art from the 18th century.
9 communities as well as 4 beautiful time-out villages in our side valleys invite you to forget everyday life: Bach, Elbigenalp, Elmen, Forchach, Gramais, Häselgehr, Hinterhornbach, Holzgau, Kaisers, Pfafflar, Stanzach, Steeg and Vorderhornbach.
If you are looking for peace and quiet away from the pistes in winter and want to enjoy unspoilt nature, it is best to opt for a snowshoe hike, but cross-country skiers and skiers will also find numerous cross-country trails and several small, family-friendly ski areas.
